Pupil & Family Support
Tiers of Support
Learning about our own emotional wellbeing is an integral part of the curriculum at Christ Church CEP Academy.
Children are taught about how their wellbeing can be positively and negatively impacted by their lifestyle and by events around them. They are taught how to recognise changes in their own wellbeing and taught strategies to manage their emotions.
The aim is to enable our children to flourish into confident and emotionally resilient individuals.
Tier 1
Tier 1 represents the quality learning experiences which are available to every child. These experiences are largely organised and delivered through the Jigsaw curriculum.
A few examples are:
- Children take part in daily mindfulness activities where appropriate.
- Weekly Jigsaw lessons teaching core concepts of mindfulness and character education
- Wellbeing is at the centre of our ethos.
- Access to the interactive prayer garden, sensory garden and peace garden.
- Peer mediators
- Opportunities to resolve conflict and reflect on next steps with an experienced senior member of staff
Tier 2
